The hotel is in the city center close to shopping, restaurants, museum, and cultural buildings. This antique building dates back to 1931. It was one of the initial swedish liquor stores (systembolaget). After rebuilding, hotel bergmästaren opened in 1985. Local tourist attractions include the unesco world heritage site of falun copper mine and museum. Lake runn is great for swimming, fishing and long distance skating. The cross-country skiing arena lugnet, the home of legendary swedish painter carl larsson, the dalhalla outdoor theatre, 2 skiing centres and plenty of golf courses are also nearby.
